WALTHAM - After scoring just four goals in a season-opening loss to former GBL rival Arlington, the Waltham offense woke up on Tuesday afternoon. The Hawks got six goals from Zach Wilson and four from Nico DiSchino en route to an 18-5 thumping of Matignon. The coaching matchup was also between two Waltham alums. Hawks head coach Ed Villafane played for the program in the 90's while Matignon head coach Chris MacInnis (05) was a member of the last Waltham team to reach the state title game his senior year.
