Salisbury (CT) 11, Nobles 6 – Dawgs open season with tough non-league loss

DEDHAM - Despite a valiant effort against a very good Salisbury (CT) team, the two-time defending ISL champs Nobles dropped their season opener (SCORE) on Wednesday afternoon. Mack Smink got the scoring started for Nobles to make it 1-1 with 7:07 left in the first quarter. James Strik tied things at 2-2 minutes later before Salisbury led 3-2 after one. The visitors pushed it to 5-2 before Smink scored again, but the Dawgs trailed 7-3 at the break. It was a quiet third quarter and Nobles found itself down 9-3 heading to the fourth. Kyle O'Leary cut it to 9-4, but the lead soon grew to 11-4. Tuck Gillbane added back-to-back tallies to make it a five-goal game before Nobles simply ran out
