It may have only been a scrimmage, but Reading let everyone know the Rockets are playing for keeps in 2023 with a 12-11 victory over St. John's Prep on Thursday. Cullen Granara led the way for the Rockets with a hat trick and two assists. Granara also added the game-winning-goal with 36 seconds left. Jimmy Ayers and Luke Kelly each had a hat trick for the two-time defending D1 champs. Chris Esposito dominated the faceoff X for the Eagles, winning 23 of 27. Reading had eight different goal scorers, including two from Ethan Haggerty (1 assist as well) and a huge ground ball performance from long-stick middie Nate Johnson.
