WESTWOOD - Both Medfield and Scituate came into Saturday's state title matchup with massive offensive production throughout the playoffs, with the lowest total by either team at 13 coming from Scituate in a semifinal win over Falmouth.
But, in most cases, defense still wins championships.
Medfield held Scituate to just four goals in a 13-4 rout to clinch the D3 state championship, the first in eight years for the Warriors' program.
