Stone - @kstone06 Homepage image - Merrimack Athletics / Lacrosse NORTH ANDOVER — History was made in North Andover on Saturday afternoon, and it spoke volumes about just how much the game of lacrosse has grown in Massachusetts. Merrimack officially became the fifth Division 1 program in the state of Massachusetts, debuting with a 13-12 heartbreaking loss to Holy Cross. After securing the program’s first two national titles at the Division 2 level in 2018 and 2019, the Warriors officially made the jump on Saturday.
