NORTHBORO - Thanks to a balanced offensive performance and a career day by junior goalie Matt Pierson, Longmeadow opened its season with a convincing 9-2 win over Central Mass power Algonquin, giving new head coach Keith Campbell his first win at the helm of his alma mater. A slow and defensive first quarter tie was finally broken eight minutes in when junior Will Lukas found a cutting Josh Goldberg to put the Lancers up 1-0.
