LONGMEADOW - Franklin and Longmeadow always have high hopes heading into June. The Lancers and Panthers both plan on competing for a state title this season, but before the brackets are unveiled early next week, the two teams squared off on Friday night. As expected, a back-and-forth, tight game came down to the wire with Longmeadow holding Franklin off for a 10-9 win. The Lancers (16-2) got a hat trick and an assist from Colin Mulderig.
