Despite outcome, Saturday was special day for Harvard & New England lacrosse
CAMBRIDGE - By 9:30 a.m. on Saturday tailgates were firing and there was a buzz around Harvard Stadium and Jordan Field.
Of course, the incredible weather helped, but whether it was folks wearing red or crimson, the big game atmosphere was palpable when No. 1 Cornell took on No. 10 Harvard. Tents were up, flags were flying, friendly banter could be heard back-and-forth walking into Jordan.
Food trucks, games for kids, free shirts, music, lax sticks everywhere and over 4,000 people packed the stands and lined the hills on the end lines. When gates opened at 11, the entire seating area was filled within a half hour.
