WINCHESTER - Looking for the all-important split against Middlesex League rival and No. 25 ranked Lexington, the Winchester Sachems came out focused and poised - while also looking to spark their offense on their home turf on Saturday.
Lexington defeated No. 24 Winchester 6-5 on Wednesday, in a defensive battle - where the Minutemen's defense held strong on the afternoon.
On a rainy Saturday morning - in the rematch, Winchester head coach Phil Reuland knew his team needed to try something different. Reuland decided to try moving attackman Sam McDonald from X to the wing, and boy did it pay off.
