By Mike Abelson (@ABELS0N) WESTWOOD – Xaverian didn't do anything big or flashy, but the Hawks did dozens of little things right that powered their way to a 12-9 victory over BC High in the Catholic Conference opener for both teams. The Hawks never trailed during the game and made BC High pay numerous times for untimely turnovers. “I think the whole game was a good team effort,” Xaverian coach Tim Gardner said. “Mike Toomey played a great game so that gives us confidence to do the things we want to do. Connor Sullivan did a good job on one of the state's better players, AJ Kucinski. I think we converged well on ground balls on defense and worked to play well as a team.”
