FRANKLIN—Signature wins have evaded the No. 13 Franklin Panthers for some time now, according to head coach Lou Verrochi.
The Panthers (16-3) needn’t wait any longer, not after they dealt the suddenly-reeling No. 14 Newton North Tigers (13-4) their third loss in a row on Saturday afternoon in a Hockomock League-Bay State Conference showdown.
“We needed it,” Verrochi said after the game. “It’s a good team we played and our kids responded real well. They were very excited to play this game today.”
The sentiment of Verrochi echoed down to the players, as senior Packie Watson was also aware that the Panthers lacked many big wins beyond the Ho
