SUDBURY - Right out of the gate, two of the top five teams in our 2026 preseason poll got after it on Thursday evening. In the season opener for both squads, third-ranked Lincoln-Sudbury held on after a frantic comeback by fourth-ranked Billerica, winning 10-9 on a last-second defensive stop. Rex Friedholm led the Warriors with a hat trick and two assists. Kaedan Ryan and Ethan Curley each added two goals and Rex Garozzo made seven saves in net. For the Indians, Danny Venezia had four goals while Braden Martin and Jackson Gearin had two each. Jacob Greene was phenomenal at the face off X, winning the first 10 draws of the game (13 total).
