MEDFIELD – No. 9 Medfield started strong and never looked back, as they dominated reigning Tri-Valley League co-champion No. 26 Westwood, 18-6, under a cold rain on Tuesday night, re-asserting their status as the team to beat in the conference.
Medfield (2-0) controlled possession thanks to great play at the faceoff X from Connor DePiero. The junior FOGO scored off a draw to make it 2-1 early in the first quarter and the Warriors never looked back, opening a 12-2 lead by halftime.
DePiero and the Warriors wings won 17 of the first 22 draws to help Medfield open an enormous 18-2 lead early in the fourth quarter.
